What is the role of a facilitator?
The role of a facilitator is to be able to guide a group of people through a series of conversations by creating a container where values, goals, objectives, and agreements are clear. To do this, the facilitator creates a space where conversations flow, knowledge is shared, and community is nurtured. Facilitators are objective, goal oriented, and observant people that are brought to support with specific projects and challenges. Aside from being able to provide interactive and in depth trainings/workshops, the role of the facilitator can extend beyond a one time training. Facilitators can support with envisioning strategic planning for a campaign, creating year long strategies, or moving through difficult challenges, to name a few examples.
